<p>Job Details</p> <p>Physician Assistant - Neuroscience</p> <p>Per Diem | Day and Night Shifts available</p> <p>St. Charles Hospital and St. Catherine's of Siena Hospital</p> <p>Catholic Health is a leader in brain, spine, stroke, and neurovascular care across Long Island. Our board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for a wide range of neurological conditions affecting the brain, spine, and nervous system.</p> <p>Our Neuroscience program offers advanced diagnosis and treatment for conditions including back and neck pain, brain and spinal tumors, epilepsy and seizures, neuromuscular disorders, spinal conditions, and movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease. Our neurointerventional specialists also provide life-saving care for patients experiencing aneurysms, strokes, and cerebral hemorrhages.</p> <p>This role supports comprehensive Neuroscience patient management and contributes to service line initiatives in collaboration with affiliated provider groups.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide evidence-based care across all phases of hospitalization, including pre-, intra-, and post-operative management </li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient flow across the continuum of care </li><li>Perform Neuroscience consultations and clinical duties as delegated by service line leadership </li><li>Order, review, and interpret laboratory and imaging studies </li><li>Document patient care accurately in the EMR in alignment with coding and compliance standards </li><li>Educate patients, families, and caregivers on diagnoses and treatment plans </li><li>Support discharge planning, including patient education and medication prescribing in compliance with regulations </li><li>Coordinate care with consulting physicians and interdisciplinary teams </li><li>Facilitate patient transfers to appropriate internal and external facilities as needed </li><li>Assist in surgical procedures when required </li><li>Contribute to clinical education and professional development of peers and students </li><li>Maintain timely and accurate reporting in accordance with organizational compliance standards </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (ARC-PA) </li><li>Current NCCPA certification required </li><li>Active and unrestricted New York State Physician Assistant license </li><li>Bachelor's degree required </li><li>BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only) </li><li>DEA registration required for providers with prescribing responsibilities </li><li>Previous experience in Neuroscience, Surgery, or Critical Care preferred </li><li>Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills </li><li>Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook) </li></ul> <p>This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing Neuroscience team at a leading health system, offering exposure to complex cases, collaborative practice, and opportunities for professional growth.</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>USD $105.00 - USD $105.00 /Hr.</p>
