The ESAP will help students work through problems that impede learning. The ESAP will utilize a comprehensive, systematic support system for all students, with an emphasis on prevention and intervention. The ESAP will develop and nurture a strong school-home connection to further support the needs of the students.</p> <p>DISTRICT OVERVIEW:</p> <p>Livonia Public Schools employs approximately 1,900 staff members, serving approximately 13,300 students from pre-K through post-secondary. There are 15 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools, 1 career technical center, 1 early childhood center, and 1 vocational and transition center in our school district. The annual budget for Livonia Public Schools is $185 million, with state funding of $9,608 per pupil.</p> <p>BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH LIVONIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS:</p> <p>Newly hired public school employees are eligible for a traditional pension and tax-deferred retirement savings accounts with an employer-matching contribution. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing you are a team member with Livonia Public Schools, which means you will have the following perks of employment available to you:</p> <ul> <li>Medical insurance, including prescription drug coverage </li><li>The district's contribution is the maximum allowed by Michigan law. </li><li>Family coverage eligibility for employees working 30 hours or more per week. </li><li>Single coverage eligibility for employees working 20 hours but less than 30 per week. </li><li>Optional "cash in lieu" of medical insurance for those who qualify. </li><li>Dental, vision, and life insurance: </li><li>The district pays 100% of the premium for all employees. </li><li>Long-term disability coverage: </li><li>The district pays 100% of the premium for employees working 20 hours or more per week. </li><li>Employee Assistance Program for employees and their eligible family members. This includes a completely confidential, short-term counseling service that utilizes a practical approach toward problem resolution and is available 7 days a week, with no cost to the employee. </li><li>Paid holidays; earned vacation, sick, and bereavement days. </li><li>Longevity pay. </li><li>Paid "act of God" days, such as snow days. </li></ul> <p>Additionally, the children of employees working 20+ hours, living outside the district's attendance boundaries, are eligible to attend Livonia Public Schools via schools of choice.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>The following is a list of minimum qualifications for this position, any one of which may be waived by the Administration in exercising its prerogative to determine qualifications.</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a bachelor's degree </li><li>Evidence of successful experience working with elementary school aged students is preferred </li><li>Successful experience working collaboratively with others </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Has demonstrated successful experience in providing research-based interventions in the affective and academic domains for struggling students </li><li>A passionate commitment to improving learning for all students </li><li>Demonstrated positive interpersonal relationships </li></ul> <p>MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Exhibits a commitment to the District's Shared Vision and Collective Commitments </li><li>Creates a welcoming and positive climate and culture </li><li>Provides behavioral, health, social-emotional support, and interventions for students in order to support their affective and academic success </li><li>Operates within the context of the total school environment providing intervention, prevention and consultation services; including appropriate materials and resource to teachers and families </li><li>Monitors student academic and behavioral progress in collaboration with school staff </li><li>Contributes to positive home/school relationships by serving as a resource to teachers, students and parents </li><li>Actively participates in or leads teams established to review individual student performance and behavior </li><li>Plans, coordinates and implements student intervention services in conjunction with classroom teacher(s) and school administration </li><li>Contributes to initial "problem identification" or the likely nature of a student, classroom, or school problem in order to help develop intervention efforts as part of a problem-solving team </li><li>Works with school team to implement trauma-informed approaches to address preventative and responsive measures for students </li><li>Serves as a resource regarding abuse and addiction including fostering connections with outside agencies and programs </li><li>Provides support with the implementation and data analysis of universal screeners, student assessments and progress monitoring data </li><li>Works collaboratively with Student Services support staff to provide appropriate interventions and data collection of student achievement and behavior </li><li>Collects and analyzes data based on student performance and plans interventions for struggling students </li><li>Attends professional training sessions on identified topics to be used with students </li><li>Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal </li></ul> <p>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>The employee's salary and working conditions are in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Professional Agreement between the Livonia Public Schools School District and the Livonia Education Association.
