<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Accepting Applications for Academic Year 2024-2025</p> <p>Part-time Nursing Tutor with expertise in Fundamentals of Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Maternal-Child Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing for First and Second year Nursing Students. This position assists students to make academic progress, while promoting independent learning and self-reliance.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ul> <li>Tutor students in one-on-one, group, and workshop formats in area of specialization. </li><li>Assist students in developing study skills, independent learning strategies, and discipline-specific knowledge. </li><li>Stay current in the area of specialization and report on relevant resources and developments in the field. </li></ul> <p>Additional responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintain required digital and paper tutoring records. </li><li>Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions. </li></ul> <p>Professional Tutors are part time employees hired on an as needed basis. Positions may consist of day, night, or weekend positions and may be in Brockton, Canton, Middleborough, or any other instructional site.</p> <p>Please note: Positions will be available pending sufficient enrollment. Qualified applicants will be contacted by the academic department.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing </li><li>Current Massachusetts RN license, or eligible to be registered </li><li>Previous tutoring or teaching experience </li><li>Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts to others clearly </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills </li><li>Familiarity with Office 365 applications, Zoom and Canvas </li><li>Ability to work with a diverse student body </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Nursing preferred </li><li>Experience with and understanding of the community college environment </li><li>Possess effective leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, and dependability </li><li>Experience with remote or Hybrid learning environments and platforms including Canvas, Zoom, ATI and online testing is preferred. </li><li>An understanding of evidence based teaching strategies and test-taking skills </li><li>Desire to support students in the learning process </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Position Status: Part-time, Non-Benefited Massachusetts Community College Council (MCCC) union position.</p> <p>This position is subject to grant funding (Perkins Grant) and is contingent upon availability of funds.</p> <p>Hours: Up to 15 hours/week, hours will vary (not to exceed 936 hours annually)</p> <p>Academic Year 2024-2025</p> <p>Salary: $35.31 hourly rate</p> <p>Schedule: Tutoring hours are based on demand for services, compatibility of schedules, and staffing needs.
