<p>SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, as directed by the Truck Shop foreman, on vehicles ranging from autos and pickups through class 8 trucks and trailers, knuckle-boom cranes, forklifts, small motor driven equipment and other rental equipment. While assuring shop and field work compliance with all regulatory standards, the Truck Shop mechanic is also responsible for maintaining equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies and by making adjustments and alignments.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Follow all company and truck shop safety rules. </li><li>Participate in safety meetings and branch audits. </li><li>Promote and actively participate in the company Health and Environmental, Safety and Security Programs. </li><li>Maintain equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies and by making adjustments and alignments. </li><li>Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts. </li><li>Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, and by performing corrective maintenance as required by work order priorities. </li><li>Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics and suspensions.
