The cover letter should address your specific interest in the position and outline skills and experience that directly relate to this position.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>One NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow positions is available to study mechanisms of HIV persistence Dr. Collins? lab in the Department of Internal Medicine University of Michigan Medical School. NIH-funded projects include:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Development of strategies to promote immune clearance.</p> </li><li> <p>Identification of sources of persistent virus.</p> </li><li> <p>Single cell analysis of in vivo viral reservoirs and in vitro models of latency.</p> </li><li> <p>The innate immune response to HIV and mechanisms of immune evasion.</p> </li></ol> <p>The successful candidate will join a well-established team of diverse researchers and will have the opportunity to develop independent research projects. Fellows will be expected to apply for funding opportunities for which they are eligible.</p> <p>Required Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be pursuing advanced scientific or scholarly training, which may be in a clinical setting but is outside of the traditional clinical service and does not involve direct patient care.</p> </li><li> <p>Highly motivated candidates with a Ph.D. and first author publication (s) in virology, immunology, cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or genetics journals are encouraged to apply.</p> </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications*</p> <p>Experience in virology would be particularly helpful.</p> <p>Modes of Work</p> <p>Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
