<p>WSCP Summer Program & ESY Program Nurse Position</p> <p>Programming Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Collect, review, and update all WSCP Summer Program & ESY student medical records, including physicals, allergies, medical conditions, and pertinent health information. </li><li>Manage Epi-Pen administration, allergy response, and first aid needs to ensure student safety. </li><li>Oversee contagious illness protocols, including symptom monitoring, exposure tracking, and necessary follow-up on transmissions. </li><li>Ensure snack orders align with the allergy and health needs of students. </li><li>Provide annual first aid, heat stroke, and Epi-Pen training for the WSCP Summer Program & ESY staff. </li><li>Document and follow up on accident and injury reports with staff and families as needed. </li><li>Regularly inspect and maintain adequate first aid supplies for all program locations. </li></ul> <p>Communication Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Connect with families to secure all necessary medication paperwork and prescriptions required for administration during the program. </li><li>Communicate with the WSCP Summer Program & ESY staff regarding air temperature, humidity, heat index, and hydration guidelines for outdoor activities. </li><li>Notify parents about any medical or health-related incidents occurring during the program. </li><li>Ensure timely and supportive communication with program administrators and staff. </li><li>Follow all required protocols for communication with families and the Department of Health regarding contagious illnesses and infectious diseases. </li><li>Collaborate with school-year nursing professionals when necessary. </li></ul> <p>Student Care Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide on-site triage and medical care as needed for students and staff. </li><li>Monitor and support students experiencing emotional distress, ensuring appropriate de-escalation techniques are used. </li><li>Be aware of students at risk for elopement (running away) and work with staff to implement safety measures. </li><li>Support and participate in all WSCP Summer Program & ESY field trips as the on-site nurse, ensuring the safety of all students. </li></ul> <p>Liaison Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary medical contact and resource for WSCP Summer Program & ESY staff, students, and families. </li><li>Share pertinent medical information with the Department of Health, as necessary. </li><li>Work with staff to implement health and safety strategies that align with program needs. </li><li>Ensure students with medical or emotional needs receive the proper support during all activities. </li><li>Perform additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Program Coordinator or Director. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>RN License valid in Massachusetts (required). </li><li>Certification in First Aid, CPR, and EpiPen administration. </li><li>Authorization to provide EpiPen training to staff. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to handle medical emergencies, emotional distress situations, and student safety concerns. </li><li>Must have U.S. citizenship, residency, or a valid work visa. </li><li>Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (C.O.R.I.), Sexual Offender Record Check (S.O.R.I.), and fingerprinting (if applicable). </li></ul> <p>Job Details:</p> <ul> <li>Type: Part-time, flexible schedule available.
