<p>Developmental Pathways (DP) has an opportunity for an Associate Director (AD) - Controller to join the Finance team. The Associate Director - Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of the financial accounting, including the general ledger, accounting cycles, financial statement preparation, historical analysis, audits, tax compliance, financial reporting, and ensuring financial health within the organization. This role involves fostering strong relationships across departments, overseeing the accounts payable function, and aligning departmental goals with the broader strategic objectives within the organization.</p> <p>This is an opportunity to coach, lead, and mentor direct reports. Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail. To learn more about our commitment to inclusion and diversity, visit our website: https://www.dpcolo.org/about-us/inclusion-and-diversity/</p> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or similar area and/or equivalent experience in an accounting or billing field</p> </li><li> <p>Four (4) years of management and supervisory experience in a financial environment</p> </li><li> <p>Thorough working knowledge of accrual accounting and related accounting principles (GAAP)</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel</p> </li><li> <p>Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work as appropriate</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Colorado motor vehicle license and proof of motor vehicle insurance</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to meet our driving requirements - no suspensions/ no more than two tickets in the past three years</p> </li></ul> <p>Upon request, qualifying need, and approval, driving requirements may be waived in lieu of reliable transportation.</p> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li> <p>Certified Public Accounting (CPA) credentials</p> </li><li> <p>Nonprofit experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Responsible for the finance department's controls to ensure that financial statements are properly stated</p> </li><li> <p>Identify budgetary needs of the accounting department and make recommendations; solicit input from team members; ensure team members are aware of budgetary goals and constraints</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate or assist with departmental or cross-departmental projects</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with liquidity/cash management</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee management of the ERP system</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in the development of and support the company's strategic plan</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor financial performance</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee monthly and annual accounting cycles and close processes</p> </li><li> <p>Analyze financial and operational data in order to assist and advise management regarding achieving financial objectives</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure successful completion of all external financial audits and tax filing requirements, including coordination of work with CPA firms</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate and develop processes to ensure financial reporting is accurate and that records are available according to agency and regulatory requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and review journal entries and other financial reports</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain standard accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations; stay up to date on financial and accounting rules and regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with and oversee the preparation of periodic financial statements, variance analyses, and other supporting schedules</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor internal control policies and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure financial documentation is maintained according to department and regulatory standards; ensure accurate and timely completion of such documentation</p> </li></ul> <p>About Us</p> <p>Started in 1964, Developmental Pathways (DP) is a nonprofit agency serving more than 15,000 individuals with disabilities and their families in Arapahoe, Douglas, and Elbert counties.
