<p>CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: Athletic Trainer</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Athletics Department</p> <p>SUPERVISOR: Associate Head AT, Head AT, and/or Director of AT</p> <p>GENERAL JOB FUNCTION</p> <p>To assist in the planning, organization, coordination, and management of the Athletic Training Department. To assist in the management and delivery of athletic healthcare to the intercollegiate student-athletes.</p> <p>STANDARD EXPECTATIONS</p> <ol> <li> <p>To possess the understanding of and the commitment to the University Mission.</p> </li><li> <p>To be responsible for assisting in the development of policies and procedures for athletic training students.</p> </li><li> <p>To be responsible for clinical instruction and supervision of athletic training students.</p> </li><li> <p>To be responsible for assisting in the operation of the athletic training facilities.</p> </li><li> <p>To be responsible for overseeing programs for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.</p> </li><li> <p>To be responsible for coverage of athletic teams as assigned by the Director of Athletic Training and / or Head Athletic Trainer.</p> </li><li> <p>To be responsible for traveling with assigned athletic teams.</p> </li><li> <p>To be responsible for assisting in the management of the athletic accident insurance program.</p> </li><li> <p>To perform other duties/tasks as may be assigned and/or requested by the Director of Athletic Training and / or Head Athletic Trainer.</p> </li></ol> <p>DECISION MAKING AND MANAGEMENT</p> <p>On a regular and continuous basis exercises administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality of service within the department/division.</p> <p>Position directly supervises athletic training students.</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <p>Required: Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field; BOC certification; Athletic Training Licensure by the state of Tennessee, CPR/AED certification (Professional Rescuer or Healthcare Provider)</p> <p>Preferred: Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field</p> <p>Experience: 0-2 years of related, collegiate level experience preferred</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS</p> <ol> <li> <p>Communication Skills using the spoken word</p> </li><li> <p>Proven experience in athletic training at the collegiate level</p> </li><li> <p>Organizational Skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities</p> </li><li> <p>Multi-task oriented</p> </li><li> <p>Interpersonal and Supervisory Skills</p> </li></ol>
