Working with other members of the team, you'll provide construction inspection in an Owner's Agent or 3rd Party construction inspection role. In this role, you will observe, inspect, and document various construction projects as an Owner's Representative to assist enforcing compliance with construction plans, contract specifications, and permit requirements, to document construction progress, and to help proactively resolve issues that arise in the field during construction.</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Review approved shop drawings, construction plans, and specifications and inspect active work against the approved contract documents to verify compliance, or identify any deviation from approved plans, then elevate to the Project Manager and/or Owner. </li><li>Prepare a daily field report documenting the status of the work, daily activities (including start and finish dates for CPM activities), manpower, equipment, and other observations. </li><li>Maintain a continuous record of change orders and field changes on a redline set of contract documents. </li><li>Identify non-compliant/deficient work, elevate to the Project Manager and/or Owner, and coordinate with the contractor through resolution. </li><li>Maintain a continuous record of construction deficiencies and punch list items. </li><li>Take photographs and videos of pre-construction conditions and major construction activities. Maintain a library of photographs with the date, subject matter, and photo number/file name. </li><li>Verify quantities of work performed, materials used, and adequacy of the contractor's resources. </li><li>Verify time and materials expense reports from the construction contractor. </li><li>Proactively notify the Project Manager of potential construction problems. </li><li>Attend construction progress and coordination meetings. </li><li>Verify that the contractor's record drawings are current. </li><li>Review monthly contractor's progress payment requests. </li><li>Facilitate, attend, and observe 3rd party material testing as required. </li><li>Monitor the status of erosion control devices on a weekly basis, and after every major rainfall event. </li><li>Prepare a pre-construction and post-construction video of the project site </li><li>Minimum of 10 years of experience inspecting civil and MEP trades for civil infrastructure, structural and building projects. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Collaborative, team-oriented perspective. </li><li>Attention to detail and disciplined time management skills </li><li>This role will require extended periods of time spent in the field and the ability to commute daily to field site/office of current assignment. </li><li>The ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and to react to change in a fast-paced environment. </li></ul> <p>Here's what you'll need</p> <ul> <li>Prefer water/wastewater utility experience but will consider those with experience from other sectors. </li><li>Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations on public right of way construction project sites. </li><li>Experience installing or inspecting large diameter force main installations. </li><li>Certifications through ICC, ACI, or AWS other Special Inspection areas. </li><li>VDOT Intermediate Workzone Safety training. </li><li>DEQ E&S Control Inspector's training </li></ul> <p>#LI-AD2</p> <p>Posted Salary Range: Minimum</p> <p>95,000.00</p> <p>Posted Salary Range: Upper</p> <p>120,000.00</p> <p>Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
