<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Middle School Math Teacher (Grades 6-8)</p> <p>2026-2027 School Year | Full-Time</p> <p>Saint Mary Catholic School, Bethel</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>St. Mary Catholic School, Bethel is seeking a highly effective, experienced, and student-centered Middle School Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will possess strong content knowledge in mathematics and a proven ability to engage middle school learners in rigorous, standards-based instruction.</p> <p>The teacher will be responsible for creating a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, while also supporting the mission of Catholic education.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide high-quality mathematics instruction for students in Grades 6-8 (courses may include Math 6, Math 7, Pre-Algebra, and/or Algebra I) </li><li>Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners </li><li>Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction </li><li>Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment conducive to learning </li><li>Integrate technology and real-world applications into math instruction </li><li>Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues </li><li>Collaborate with faculty and administration in support of student achievement </li><li>Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives </li><li>Support the Catholic identity of the school through participation in liturgies, prayer, and service activities </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (Master's preferred) </li><li>Practicing Roman Catholic, in good standing </li><li>Valid Connecticut teaching certification (or eligibility) in Mathematics or Middle School Education </li><li>Minimum of 2-5 years of successful middle school math teaching experience strongly preferred </li><li>Strong background in middle school math curriculum and best instructional practices </li><li>Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and use data to drive student achievement </li><li>Effective classroom management skills </li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Proficiency with educational technology </li></ul> <p>Interested candidates should complete the CT Reap application, include a cover letter, current resume and 3 current letters of recommendation to the attention of: principal@stmarybethelct.org</p>
