<p>Title: Solar Performance Modeling Engineer</p> <p>Location: Boulder, CO</p> <p>Start Date: Immediately</p> <p>Reports to: Director, Development</p> <p>At JUWI, were taking solar energy to the next level. With the goal to bring solar power online over the next several years, we seek a Solar Performance Modeling Engineer to bring our vision to life.</p> <p>As a Solar Performance Modeling Engineer, youll have the opportunity to apply your industry knowledge, analytical and problem-solving capabilities, resourcefulness, and good judgement to design, develop, and analyze performance for utility scale solar (PV) and battery projects. This position will actively contribute to the development, construction, and operations phases of a project, and it presents an opportunity be part of a broad-scoped, fast-paced team where a can-do and innovative attitude thrives.</p> <p>In this role, youll:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Own all solar (PV) electrical system designs during the development phase of a project, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Performing high-level analysis to determine the most optimal and cost-effective electrical design configurations.</p> </li><li> <p>Completing all energy modeling and generation summaries.</p> </li><li> <p>Supporting the Business Development team with all technical plant performance data required to generate proposals.</p> </li><li> <p>Researching and deploying creative cost reduction and design improvements.</p> </li><li> <p>Staying current on the latest design tools, methods, and cost reduction measures offered or deployed in the solar (PV) industry.</p> </li><li> <p>Managing the fleet of site prospectors, used to collect environmental data for potential project sites.</p> </li><li> <p>Support the construction and operations teams with technical analysis, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Computing and deliver performance guarantees.</p> </li><li> <p>Supporting testing and qualification efforts for new equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Contributing to operating plant forecast and performance reporting systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Providing operating plant performance testing and troubleshooting.</p> </li><li> <p>Contributing to long term engineering and operating plant research, then apply lessons learned to latest designs.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A solid understanding of solar and electrical engineering, production modeling and power generation principles </li><li>Highly developed understanding and application of solar modeling methods including PVSYST, SAM, PVCase, SolarGIS, or similar. </li><li>Experience processing, analyzing, and summarizing large data sets. </li><li>Accredited university degree (electrical engineering preferred) and three (3) or more years of PV plant engineering. </li><li>Strong computer skills, including software tools such as Matlab, Python, data acquisition systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills. </li><li>The foresight, awareness, and ability to take the first steps to advance toward a goal, solve a problem, and/or pursue a new idea with or without direct guidance. </li><li>Demonstrated efficiency in managing multi-disciplinary tasks. </li><li>Team player, stress-resistant; periodic project related travel may be required </li></ul> <p>Any offer of employment for this position will be conditioned upon drug screening, in accordance with Section 12-3-3, B.R.C. 1981.</p> <p>About JUWI:</p> <p>JUWI Inc.
