<p>Job Description:</p> <p>REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT #10</p> <p>2026-2027</p> <p>Harwinton and Burlington are serene townships nestled amidst state forests and parks bordering the Farmington Valley to the south and the Litchfield Hills to the north. The towns share a border with Farmington, Avon, Bristol to the South/West and Litchfield and Torrington to the North. Despite their quiet country feel, the towns are within easy driving access to the Hartford region. We look forward to receiving your candidacy and we welcome a diverse candidate pool!</p> <p>Position: Anticipated 1.0 FTE School Psychologist</p> <p>Location: Lewis Mills High School</p> <p>Reports to: Building Administrator/Special Education Director</p> <p>Starting Date: With the commencement of the 2026-2027 school year</p> <p>The School Psychologist plays a vital role in supporting the healthy development of students within the entire school community, with a particular focus on students in our RISE and BEST programs. The Psychologist provides both direct and indirect services through interventions, instructional support, and counseling to help students build social-emotional skills and strengthen mental health competencies.</p> <p>A key responsibility of this position is addressing barriers to learning by offering proactive, preventative, and responsive services to students, families, and the school community. The Psychologist is a key member of the team and must have strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with all stakeholders including students, families, teachers, BTs, and related service providers.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who present with significant mental health or behavioral challenges and who may be at risk of more restrictive placements. This individual will be skilled at teaching coping and social skills, developing student resilience, and fostering inclusion so that students can succeed within the least restrictive environment.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in a combination of the following areas:</p> <ul> <li>CT Endorsement for School Psychologist </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Contribute to a positive school climate </li><li>Ability to provide high quality professional services and sound practice to the whole school community. </li><li>Experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of learning, behavioral, and social challenges including emotional disturbance, autism, intellectual disabilities, high functioning autism, and/or school refusal </li><li>Ability to provide a variety of intervention approaches across the mental health spectrum. </li><li>Ability to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and make appropriate changes in response to that data </li><li>Work proactively and collaboratively with team members for individual student and whole-school outcomes </li><li>Knowledge or practice in the areas of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and/or Scientifically Research Based Interventions (SRBI) </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with teams, community service providers, state agencies, outside service providers and families </li><li>Demonstrate teacher-leadership qualities to bring initiative and innovation to the department in the above areas </li></ul> <p>Date Posted: April 9, 2026 Application Closing Date: When filled</p> <p>Application Procedure: Please apply on-line at www.region10ct.org.</p> <p>Internal Candidates: Complete an updated resume and letter of interest through Frontline by the closing of the posting.
