<p>Overview</p> <p>Direct Support Professional I - PASS</p> <p>Pay: $20.25-$21.00/hour</p> <p>Seven Hills Rhode Island is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSP I) to provide one-on-one support to children with special healthcare needs through our PASS program. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping children build independence, develop life skills, and actively participate in their homes and communities.</p> <p>As a Direct Support Professional in PASS, you will provide individualized, family-driven support that enhances a child's ability to engage in daily activities and social experiences. With more than 60 years of experience, we provide person-centered, community-based services that empower individuals to live meaningful and independent lives.</p> <p>This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow a career in human services while making a direct and lasting impact on a child's development and quality of life.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Direct Care & Support</p> <ul> <li>Provide one-on-one care and supervision based on the approved PASS plan </li><li>Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care as needed </li><li>Support children in developing independence, decision-making, and life skills </li><li>Create opportunities for socialization at home and in the community </li></ul> <p>Plan Implementation & Documentation</p> <ul> <li>Implement individualized goals developed in collaboration with families and the care team </li><li>Accurately document progress through data sheets, notes, and required reports </li><li>Submit timesheets, incident reports, and documentation in a timely manner </li><li>Participate in family-led trainings and apply feedback to improve service delivery </li></ul> <p>Family & Team Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers regarding progress and needs </li><li>Work collaboratively with coordinators and clinical consultants </li><li>Maintain a professional, respectful, and supportive relationship with families </li></ul> <p>Community Engagement & Transportation</p> <ul> <li>Transport individuals to approved activities and appointments as needed </li><li>Support participation in recreational, social, and community-based activities </li><li>Ensure all transportation is conducted safely and in accordance with regulations </li></ul> <p>Professional Standards & Safety</p> <ul> <li>Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations </li><li>Promote self-advocacy, dignity, and respect for each individual served </li><li>Respond effectively to emergencies and ensure a safe, clean environment </li><li>Attend required trainings and maintain certifications </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Empathy and compassion </li><li>Strong communication skills, especially with families </li><li>Reliability and professionalism </li><li>Ability to support social skill development and independence </li><li>Flexibility and adaptability in a home-based setting </li><li>Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma, GED, or HiSET required </li><li>Valid Class C or Class D driver's license </li><li>CPR/First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain) </li></ul>
