<p>Associate Director, Data Management</p> <p>University Advancement is seeking an Associate Director, Data Management to join its CRM and Data Management team. University Advancement drives the University's comprehensive efforts to build relationships with its philanthropic communities and to secure resources that ensure USC's global leadership in higher education. Reporting to the Senior Director, CRM and Data Management, this role focuses on ensuring data completeness and accuracy, automating updates, and overseeing data entry processes and staff.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will bring expertise in data governance, quality control, and process automation, as well as experience managing teams and collaborating across departments. This is an opportunity to apply technical skill and strategic thinking to optimize data systems that drive fundraising, alumni engagement, and other Advancement priorities.</p> <p>This is a hybrid position under our current work arrangement plan, with the expectation of on-site presence in our downtown Los Angeles office (USC Tower) and some travel to main campus (University Park Campus) as needed.</p> <p>University Advancement is committed to non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all, where all advancement staff and our stakeholders have the opportunity to connect, belong, and grow while supporting the University of Southern California's mission, values, and goals.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Oversee the technical aspects of data integrity, ensuring quality control, productivity tracking, and data validation processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and address data anomalies, ensuring corrections to inconsistencies and inaccuracies.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage and mentor a team of data entry staff, providing training, guidance, and support.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with the development teams to streamline current interfaces and automate processes to improve efficiency and user experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform complex data management tasks, including data conversion, de-duplication, migration, and identification, as well as repair of data quality issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyze and troubleshoot data-related issues, performing necessary modifications to resolve issues and ensure data accuracy.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide technical direction and feedback to staff as needed to optimize data management.</p> </li><li> <p>Stay up to date with industry standards and new techniques in data management.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure adherence to ethical data governance practices and applicable data privacy laws and regulations, including but not limited to FERPA, GDPR, and HIPAA.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree.</p> </li><li> <p>Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.</p> </li><li> <p>At least 3 years of related experience in data management and reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to manage complex data projects and demonstrate critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Database management skills using Salesforce or other cloud databases.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Practical knowledge of the systems development lifecycle and rapid application development.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience providing supervision, mentorship, and technical direction to team members.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills and the ability to handle multiple, complex priorities.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to USC's Unifying Values.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master's degree.</p> </li><li> <p>5 years of experience with data integrity, relational and analytical data structures, and data warehousing techniques. Salesforce certifications are a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a proven track record in resolving complex data issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Hands-on experience with data conversion, de-duplication, and integration development.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Documents</p> <p>Resume and cover letter required (may be uploaded as one file). Please do not submit your application without these documents.</p> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <p>The budgeted salary range for this position is $104,400 - $130,000.
