The registered nurse utilizes Comprehensive Nursing Assessments that identify the child's physical, emotional, and behavioral needs and are developmentally appropriate.</p> <p>The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to perform age-appropriate nursing interventions and evaluations that are therapeutically sound.</p> <ol> <li>Service Delivery </li></ol> <ul> <li>Functions as the primary health educator to students and </li><li>Functions as liaison with non Pressley Ridge health care providers, including primary care, specialists, and mental health providers. </li><li>Supervises procedures for medication administration. </li><li>Provides nursing care based on needs. </li><li>Initiates referrals where necessary for routine physical examinations, dental examinations, immunizations. Provides screening tests as needed. </li><li>Assists with the review and completion of medication administration records. </li><li>Implements physician orders. </li><li>Provides in-service/training as required </li><li>Functions as a Licensed Professional by conducting face-to-face assessments and evaluations according to Pressley Ridge Policy titled Restraint Use in Pennsylvania Residential Treatment Facilities </li><li>Provides consultation on and oversight of the establishment of standard procedures and protocols that create a structured and accountable system of delivery all medical services, including health education. </li><li>Creates and reviews standard practice for standing orders for minor illness and for OTC medications. </li><li>Participates with the staff psychiatrist to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate medical interventions. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Regulatory Compliance </li></ol> <ul> <li>Updates skills and maintain necessary credential(s). </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of proper documentation and charting procedures and completes in a timely manner. </li><li>Adheres to all best practice standards as relates to accreditation and licensing. </li><li>Follows all Pressley Ridge policies, procedures and protocols. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Quality Improvement </li></ol> <ul> <li>Utilizes data for decision making and performance improvement from the following sources: Environmental Site Safety committees; Client/Caregiver Survey; Stakeholder Survey; Client Record Reviews; Root Cause Analysis; Gap Analysis Training Transcripts; Interagency Meetings. </li><li>Monitors program consistency to Service Line performance indicators and recommendations. </li><li>Participates and monitors program adherence to trauma-sensitive, coercion-free model indicators. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Clearances. State Police/FBI per state regulations; Child Protection </li><li>Requires a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance. </li><li>Requires current State Nursing License. </li><li>Requires one year of nursing experience. </li><li>Requires a current CPR card. </li><li>Experience in a behavioral health setting serving children and/or adolescents, preferred. </li><li>Complete pharmacology course. </li></ul>
