<p>Utah Valley University is seeking two part-time Event and Production Stage Technicians to join the dynamic team at the Noorda Center for the Performing Arts. This role offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant, multi-venue performing arts center that hosts a wide range of events and performances. Technicians assist with preparing support areas and theatre spaces to ensure every event runs smoothly and professionally.</p> <p>Working under the direction of the Technical Director or Production Management, you will help with equipment setup and breakdown in areas such as lighting, sound, stage carpentry, costuming, artist hospitality, and guest services. This is a great opportunity for individuals with technical theatre experience or a strong interest in production to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while supporting world-class performances and community events.</p> <ul> <li>Event setup and tear down, including support spaces, for all NCPA events. Furniture layout, setting up and running audio equipment, lighting equipment, and other production equipment as dictated by event needs. </li><li>Event preparation including site visits, planning meetings, organizing/staging/transporting equipment to be prepared for event move in, and return upon its conclusion. </li><li>Participation in event run whether supervising equipment or directing guests, other staff, or artists. May be asked to assist in registration, ongoing cleanup, and other guest or production related concerns. </li><li>Perform other job related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Previous experience in stage and event production work is required. </p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>A driver's license is not required for this position, but is necessary for hospitality runner duties. Candidate must complete a defensive driving course (provided by UVU) if they are interested. Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Experience in music, dance, or theatrical performance required. </li><li>Knowledge of basic safety rules and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of working in busy and complex variable environments. </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Skills in customer service and basic conflict resolution with a proven ability to work with the broad scope of people involved in event management. </li><li>Skilled in logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. </li></ul> <p>Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and interpret work orders and event plans to layout room contents. </li><li>Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. </li><li>Ability to learn and maintain a working knowledge of specialty equipment. </li></ul>
