<p>The Position</p> <p>Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Scientist to join the Chemistry Department. The successful candidate will primarily focus on analysis of biological samples using bioanalytical assays including qPCR and ELISA to support drug discovery programs.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform qPCR and ELISA based quantitative bioanalysis in a variety of biological matrices (including biofluids and tissues) to support pharmacokinetics and tissue clearance studies </li><li>Follow sample analysis SOPs </li><li>Process, review, and interpret data independently </li><li>Track progress against project timelines, generate regular status updates, and communicate progress and issues to management </li><li>Submit ADME study requests </li><li>Understand program or study design, generate figures to present data accordingly, and share bioanalysis results to cross-function groups </li><li>Setup and maintain lab instruments </li><li>Maintain a well-documented laboratory notebook. Document experimental procedure and results accurately and meticulously </li><li>Demonstrate well-established sample analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills </li><li>Execute all assays in a timely manner to meet deadlines </li><li>Be able to address questions or concerns related to bioanalysis running conditions and data analysis criteria </li><li>Adhere to safe laboratory practices </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>BS degree in biology, chemistry, or related field </li><li>5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/CRO industry or MS degree with 3+ years of experience </li><li>Hands-on experience of quantitative bioanalysis techniques like qPCR or ELISA </li><li>Hands-on experience of sample handling from biological matrices </li><li>Demonstrated innovation, creativity and resilience in problem solving </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>Self-motivated team player with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, multi-disciplinary, matrixed environment </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Stem-loop qPCR method development or validation experience </li><li>ELISA or immunoprecipitation method development or validation experience </li><li>LCMS sample preparation or data analysis experience </li></ul>
