<p>Telecommunications Technician ($20-25/hr)</p> <p>As a Telecoms Technician you will be working in the clients exchange buildings across the USA, providing connectivity schemes between the MDF and Switch infrastructure.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Following an agreed schedule provide 2 wire jumpers to complete circuit between the MDF and 20c switching infrastructure. </li><li>Terminate 2 wire jumpers using twist and tip soldering techniques or IDC tools as appropriate. </li><li>Test Provision of 2 wire prior to changeover. </li><li>Recover old wiring as specified in job pack. </li><li>Provide and test 2Mb co-axial circuits between DDF's. </li><li>Support decommissioning of Switch infrastructure. </li><li>Recover redundant infrastructure from the footprint. </li><li>Verifies service by testing circuits and identifying, correcting, or escalating problems. </li><li>Documents network by labelling and routing equipment and cables and recording configuration diagrams and specifications. </li></ul> <p>Telecommunications Technician Qualifications/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Two years minimum experience working on Main Distribution Frames and Intermediate Distribution Frames </li><li>HN1 Basic Frames Accreditation, HN4 Frames Accreditation </li><li>Competent in use of soldering tools and use of IDC tools </li><li>Competent in making up and testing 3002 co-axial links </li><li>Technical understanding of the PSTN </li><li>Full clean driving licence </li><li>Verbal communications </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of related IT/telecommunications experience </li><li>Experience working on high volume PSTN frames </li><li>Experience with provision of 2wire services, ISDN 2, ISDN 30, 2Mb circuit provision. </li></ul>
