<p>Job Title: Science and Engineering Program Instructor</p> <p>Program Dates: Monday, July 6 Thursday, August 6, 2026</p> <p>Schedule: 9:30 AM 3:00 PM, Monday through Thursday</p> <p>Location: Manhattan University, Riverdale, NY</p> <p>Compensation: $45.00 per hour</p> <p>Program Overview:</p> <p>The Science & Engineering Summer Camp at Manhattan University introduces middle schoolers to the science of engineering. Campers explore five engineering specialties: mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, and environmental engineering. Each week, they examine a different specialty, allowing participants to learn what these five engineering disciplines offer the world and help improve.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>We seek an enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructor to lead and mentor students through science and engineering middle school-level activities for our program. The instructor will facilitate daily sessions, guide project development, coordinate with the university faculty, and foster a supportive learning environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the program's objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate group discussions and provide constructive feedback on student projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate with leadership staff to ensure a cohesive program experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor student progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and invite guest speakers to meet with the students in collaboration with faculty.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelors degree in Business, Education, or a related field; Masters preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience teaching or mentoring middle and high school students.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of entrepreneurial concepts and business development.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication and organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to inspire and motivate young learners.</p> </li><li> <p>Passion for education and youth development.</p> </li></ul> <p>Founded in 1853, Manhattan University is an independent Catholic Lasallian institution located in Riverdale, NY that embraces students of all faiths, cultures, and traditions.
