Collaborates with school staff to determine appropriate AT tools and strategies to support student access and learning. Supports district staff by offering training, consultation, and technical assistance related to AT. Delivers professional development through workshops, in-services, and individual coaching. Oversees the inventory, management, and distribution of AT devices and software. For more information visit our New Employee Resources page. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Delivers ongoing, needs-based training and coaching to school-based staff on the effective use of assistive technology (AT) tools and strategies </li><li>Collaborates with educators, service providers, and IEP teams to assess student needs and identify appropriate AT supports, including participation in the IEP consideration and documentation process </li><li>Installs, configures, and integrates AT devices and software; provides technical assistance and researches alternative solutions as needed </li><li>Partners with relevant departments to ensure compatibility and seamless integration of AT tools within district technology systems </li><li>Oversees AT procurement, budgeting, inventory management, and distribution of tools and materials </li><li>Develops and maintains resource materials, documentation guidelines, and usage protocols in collaboration with Exceptional Student Services leadership </li><li>Acts as a liaison with vendors to support device compatibility, resolve technical issues, and coordinate services </li><li>Supports long-term planning and cross-departmental collaboration to align AT services with district goals and student access needs </li><li>Maintains accurate records and reports on AT usage, program operations, and expenditures to support accountability and data-driven decisions </li><li>Updates and manages AT program web content to ensure accessibility, accuracy, and compliance with Colorado accessibility standards </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree - Special Education or Related Services Discipline - Required </li><li>Master's Degree - Special Education or Related Services Discipline - Preferred </li><li>Three (3+) plus years of teaching or service experience in special education or related services discipline - Required </li><li>Active Colorado Department of Education, Special Education license and Valid Colorado Drivers License - Required </li><li>Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) Certification and/or Graduate Certificate in Assistive Technology - Preferred </li><li>Knowledge and use of Google Suite </li><li>Effective time management and organizational skills </li><li>Effective communication skills </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines </li><li>The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance </li><li>Work collaboratively with others on a team </li><li>Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment </li><li>Ability to travel to various sites across the District </li><li>Knowledge of assistive technology devices and implementation strategies </li><li>Knowledge of augmentative communication devices such as programming and implementation </li><li>Support strategies and knowledge of accommodation and modifications for students with special needs to gain access to the general curriculum </li><li>Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. </li><li>Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us. </li><li>Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position. </li></ul> <p>Denver Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender expression, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military service, or any other status protected by law or regulations.
