<p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Assistant Director for JCA Recruitment & Digital Engagement will support student recruitment efforts by ensuring that JCA's programs and performances are effectively promoted to internal and external communities, and by representing JCA at various stages of the recruitment, application, and audition processes. Additionally, in conjunction with College leadership and within established processes of the University, the Assistant Director will manage the College's digital and print presence by overseeing website content, social media strategy and implementation, review of recruitment materials, and coordination of print advertisements.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Student Recruitment Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>In collaboration with the Associate Director for JCA Recruitment, assist with implementation of outreach, recruitment, audition, and new student enrollment processes for JCA including: </li><li>Coordinating recruitment-specific events </li><li>Communicating and meeting with prospective students and their families via in-person visits, email, phone, and virtual platforms </li><li>Organizing supplementary visit experiences such as sample music lessons, class observations, and shadow days </li><li>On occasion, serving as a JCA representative at college fairs, festivals, and high school outreach events; occasional travel may be required </li><li>Preparing materials for external recruitment events </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Digital Engagement Responsibilities: In collaboration with College Leadership, develop new and maintain existing strategic digital engagement plans that align with JCA's recruitment goals Serve as the primary content manager for the JCA website</p> <ul> <li>Lead the college's social media strategy, maintaining active and engaging accounts across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X [formerly known as Twitter], etc.) in conjunction with department chairs, departmental admins, and appropriate student groups </li><li>Monitor social media activity and respond appropriately as needed </li><li>With College and University stakeholders, create and curate digital content, including graphics, videos, and written posts, in line with JCA's branding </li><li>Partner with College leadership to create and implement a grassroots marketing plan that will support recruitment events, performances, and other JCA activities </li><li>Create and maintain both a content calendar and a media library of approved images and videos </li><li>Analyze and report on website and social media analytics to inform strategy and improve performance </li><li>Provide support and training for best practices for digital engagement within the JCA community </li><li>Collaborate with the Butler Arts & Events Center and other University marketing units to ensure cross-promotion of JCA content </li><li>Support the Dean's office in maintaining college-specific displays and digital signage (e.g., Lilly Hall electronic display) </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, arts administration, or related field </li><li>4-7 years of experience in marketing, social media management, or digital communications, preferably in higher education or the arts </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva, WordPress/CMS, Google Workspace, and major social media platforms </li><li>Experience developing content for multiple audiences across various platforms </li><li>Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills </li><li>Excellent organizational and project management abilities </li><li>Understanding of SEO and digital engagement strategies </li><li>Experience working with community-based organizations across a broad spectrum of constituents </li><li>Valid driver's license </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with arts programs or arts organizations </li><li>Knowledge of higher education recruitment and event promotion </li><li>Familiarity with video content creation and performance marketing </li></ul> <p>BU Benefits and Perks</p> <p>Please check out Butler's Total Rewards website to learn more about our benefit offerings, which include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Paid Time Off and Holidays:</p> </li><li> <p>20 days of paid time off (vacation and PTO days) per Fiscal year</p> </li><li> <p>6 Paid Holidays</p> </li><li> <p>In addition, a paid Winter Break between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day</p> </li><li> <p>Paid Parental Leave (after 1 year of full-time employment)</p> </li><li> <p>Health:</p> </li><li> <p>Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans including disability and life insurance programs</p> </li><li> <p>Retirement:</p> </li><li> <p>10% employer contribution after 1 year of full-time employment</p> </li><li> <p>Tuition Assistance:</p> </li><li> <p>Tuition Exchange Program for Dependents</p> </li><li> <p>Remission of tuition for classes taken at Butler for employees, spouses, and dependent children.</p> </li><li> <p>Eligibility after 9 months of full-time employment</p> </li><li> <p>Employees & spouses- undergraduate/graduate degrees</p> </li><li> <p>Dependents (under age 26)- undergraduate degree</p> </li><li> <p>Covers tuition only</p> </li><li> <p>Butler Facilities Access, Discounts and Perks:</p> </li><li> <p>Access to Butler's on-site fitness facility and libraries for full-time staff and faculty</p> </li><li> <p>LinkedIn Learning Courses</p> </li><li> <p>Free premium subscription to the Calm App</p> </li><li> <p>Free subscription to the WSJ, The Economist, and NYT</p> </li><li> <p>Discount at the College Bookstore</p> </li><li> <p>Discount on select Athletic and Arts/Events Center Performances</p> </li></ul>
