Apply now to see where your career at CHOC can take you.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Sterile Processing Specialist Lead performs and monitors a variety of duties in relation to sterilization logs, instrument tracking system and supply inventory in the sterile processing unit without direct supervision. Participates in and monitors distribution of supplies to customers while maintaining excellent customer service. Assists manager with payroll and staffing scheduling. Assists with coordination of the in-service of new equipment. Participates in performance evaluations for staff.</p> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Minimum $26.73 Midpoint $35.41 Maximum $44.10</p> <p>Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.</p> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Required: Minimum one (1) year of Sterile Processing experience. </li><li>Preferred: Five (5) years of Sterile Processing experience. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Required: High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent. </li><li>Preferred: Coursework in medical terminology, human anatomy, microbiology, infection control, decontamination, disinfection, instrument assembly and packaging, high-level sterilization, biological testing, and inventory management and distribution required. </li></ul> <p>Training</p> <ul> <li>Required: Operating knowledge of sterilization standards, autoclave operations and biological monitoring. </li></ul> <p>Special Skills</p> <ul> <li>Required: Proficient in verbal and written English with excellent telephone and customer service skills. Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment. Basic knowledge and skill of computer use and instrument tracking system. Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understand and exceed customer expectations, effectively solve complex patient care and organizational problems, role model positive and professional behavior. </li></ul> <p>Licensure</p> <ul> <li>Required: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - certification to be obtained within 1 - 2 years of hire or transfer. </li><li>Preferred: International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM). </li></ul> <p>Work Environments - Functional Demand:</p> <p>Medium - High energy level Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie.
