<p>Description of Job Duty:</p> <p>The School of Human Ecology at Tennessee Tech University invites candidates to apply for a full-time twelve-month, non-tenure track Clinical Track faculty position in Child Life to begin July 1, 2026.</p> <p>Tennessee Tech is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>The successful candidate will be expected to teach Child Life courses, and other courses as needed, as well as assist with mentoring and retention of students. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include supervision of experiential learning experiences leading to a Master of Science degree in Child Life.</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Those typical of a classroom/office setting.</p> <p>Special Instructions:</p> <p>Applicants will be required to apply online at www.jobs.tntech.edu and electronically upload a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching philosophy, pedagogical philosophy, copy of transcripts (official transcripts for all degrees conferred required upon hire), and contact information for three professional references. Full-time twelve-month, non-tenure track position to begin July 1, 2026.</p> <p>Benefits Information:</p> <p>The University offers a competitive benefits package. Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>PhD or terminal degree from an accredited institution at the time of appointment in Human Development/Sciences or Family Studies/Sciences or closely related field </li><li>Credentialing as a Certified Child Life Specialist by the Child Life Certification Commission </li><li>Minimum of five years of professional experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist post credentialing </li><li>Oral and written communication skills at a level appropriate to convey information to and from students, colleagues and others in a clear manner </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of seven years of professional experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist post credentialing </li><li>Evidence of at least two years of college level teaching experience as primary instructor online or in-person </li><li>Experience with supervising child life internship students as a clinical preceptor </li><li>Evidence of experience with advising and mentoring students </li><li>Knowledge of curriculum design, experience with various teaching methods including online delivery and assessment of learning </li><li>Active membership in the Association of Child Life Professionals with expectation to join the Child Life Academic Society once employed </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in both university and community settings with faculty, staff, and students, and various community stakeholders </li></ul>
