If managed properly, Indiana's workforce will be second to none and completely prepared for the next phase of the state and country's economic growth.</p> <p>Role Overview:</p> <p>Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program specialists will provide individualized career (intensive) services and facilitate placements to meet the employment needs of Veterans, prioritizing service to special disabled Veterans, other disabled Veterans, and other categories of Veterans in accordance with priorities determined by the Secretary of Labor. These duties are outlined in 38 U.S.C. 4103A(a).</p> <p>Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program specialists are an essential part of and fully integrated into the WorkOne / American Job Center network. They are included among the WorkOne / American Job Center partner staff, which consists of all staff employed by programs or activities operated by WorkOne / American Job Center partners listed in 29 U.S.C. 2841(b) that provide online and/or in-person workforce development or related support services as part of the workforce development system. Other WorkOne / American Job Center partner staff members include staff of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Wagner Peyser, and other WorkOne / American Job Center network partner programs.</p> <p>Salary Statement:</p> <p>The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42,900.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.</p> <p>A Day in the Life:</p> <p>The essential functions of this role are as follows:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for enrolling Veterans with significant barriers to employment (SBE) into a case management system including interviewing, completing an objective assessment, and creating an individualized employment plan (IEP). </li><li>Identify and determine the appropriate career route for each SBE Veteran and the services needed. </li><li>Responsible for outreach activities to identify new SBE Veterans by working with Veteran organizations. </li><li>Actively visit communities in search of SBE Veterans and provide potential resources. </li><li>Refer SBE Veterans to partner services for training in different career areas. </li><li>Work with Veteran organization and grant programs to establish resources and collaborate partners for Veteran's individual needs. </li></ul> <p>The job profile is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
