<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Administration/Elementary School Assistant Principal</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>3/4/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>West Bristol School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>ASAP</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>03/19/2026</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: ELEMENTARY ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL AT WEST BRISTOL SCHOOL</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION</p> <p>REPORTS TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL</p> <p>SUMMARY: Responsible for providing assistance to the Principal in the administration of the total school program.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Serves as administrative head of the school in the absence of the principal. </li><li>Oversees a positive building climate by managing student discipline and working with students to promote accountability and positive behavior. </li><li>Assists with staff evaluation. </li><li>Manages building staff, including class schedules and building problems. </li><li>Utilizes technology applications to facilitate scheduling, grading and data analysis. </li><li>Supervises staff attendance and assignment of substitute teachers. </li><li>Assists scheduling special events during the school day. </li><li>Assists with coordinating the development of the master teaching schedule. </li><li>Provides general supervision to students. </li><li>Supervises extra curricular activities. </li><li>Maintains relationship with parents and community. </li><li>Assists in safety inspections and safety drill activities. </li><li>Supervises and evaluates teachers, departments and teams as assigned by the principal, providing instructional leadership. </li><li>Performs other tasks as required by the building principal. </li><li>Participates in district-wide activities, in-service and committees as appropriate. </li><li>Works with the Central Office Staff on system-wide initiatives and problems. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.</p> <p>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Master's Degree and/or Sixth Year Certificate.</p> <p>Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience.</p> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:</p> <p>Intermediate Administrative Certification (092).</p> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS:</p> <p>Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, employees and the general public.</p> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:</p> <p>Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and concrete variables.</p> <p>COMPUTER SKILLS:</p> <p>Basic knowledge and experience with standard hardware and software applications. Ability to use computer for E-mail, word processing, accounting, databases and presentations.</p> <p>REASONING ABILITY:</p> <p>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
