<p>Description</p> <p>A Project Engineer at Burns & McDonnell is the essential technical partner supporting our project teams in the industrial water market. In this role, you will provide the critical, high-level direction to all engineering design efforts, driving project delivery. You will manage the intricate details of the design process, directly impacting the successful execution of our most technical projects.</p> <p>What You Will Do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serve as project engineer on medium to large multi-disciplinary design-only and/or design-build/EPC projects with the ability to serve as a project manager on smaller design-only or early FEL phase projects under the supervision of a project manager.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination and manage the overall engineering design efforts for design-only and/or EPC projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform independent quality and completeness reviews of engineering deliverables.</p> </li><li> <p>Support the development of project cost estimates.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage development of discipline budgets and the overall project's professional services budget and work breakdown structure (WBS).</p> </li><li> <p>Support development of project schedules.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate schedule progression/updates, and budget/progress tracking functions with the project team.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate discipline design change notifications and draft client change orders.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform internal and client design reviews.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate internal and external project meetings and publish meeting minutes.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain project management lists (action item, risk, key decisions, etc.) and manage design RFI's.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare monthly client status reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Support vendor expediting efforts (submittals, fabrication, delivery).</p> </li><li> <p>Develop vendor quality oversight plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Direct procurement process (equipment, piping, instruments, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Direct field engineering services from home office and/or field locations.</p> </li><li> <p>Support the development of subcontract plans, subcontractor bid packages and the award of subcontracts.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Support proposal development and production.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in mentoring and retention of junior staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 3 years of detailed engineering design experience for design-only and/or EPC projects, 5 years of experience preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work collaboratively with others (Owners, Contractors, Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Highly effective communicator with clear and concise writing and presentation skills.</p> </li><li> <p>High level of attention to detail.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to develop and manage workplans, schedules and budgets and provide leadership to a diverse project team a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.</p> <p>EEO/Disabled/Veterans</p> <p>Job Engineering</p> <p>Primary Location US-MO-Kansas City</p> <p>Schedule: Full-time</p> <p>Travel: Yes, 25 % of the Time</p> <p>Req ID: 261087</p> <p>Job Hire Type Experienced #LI-LS #WTR</p>
