<p>POSITION SUMMARY: Fisk University seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biology and/or Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (BMB). The ideal candidate should be a teacher-scholar with demonstrated potential for excellence in student-centered undergraduate teaching and for developing a research program capable of attracting external funding and publishing peer-reviewed papers with undergraduate co-authors. Candidates should be able to teach introductory-level General Biology courses as well as upper-level courses assigned based on need and area of expertise. The specific area of the faculty-mentored research program is open, but should be amenable to undergraduate and Masters-level research projects. The faculty member should be able to serve as a mentor in the Fisk-Vanderbilt Masters-to-PhD Bridge Program and/or the Fisk-UIUC Masters-to-PhD Bridge in Quantitative Biology. A PhD in Biological/Biomedical Sciences or related discipline is required, and postdoctoral training is preferred.
