<p>The APRN is responsible for evaluating and coordinating patient needs in the EPIC Health Center to enable preventative and supportive care of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV. The APRN will provide clinical services, symptom management, and consultation education, in addition to providing evaluation of disease process. The APRN utilizes assessment, intervention, and teaching skills to maximize patient care. The APRN will provide direct clinical services to people seeking sexual health care and services to sex partners; monitors disease trends, provides education and training as requested.</p> <p>Position Qualifications/Requirement:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field. </li><li>Licensure: Current Florida license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner </li><li>Certifications: Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association </li><li>NPI provider and ability to bill CMS services or ability to obtain same </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience required. </li><li>Minimum of two (2) year experience as an APRN with experience in adult, holistic, gerontology, or oncology practice preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of nursing and their application to patient care </li><li>Knowledge of health principles, practices and techniques with respect to clinical and related services </li><li>Knowledge of symptoms, diagnoses and treatment in the area of sexually transmitted diseases </li><li>Knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system. </li><li>Knowledge of current trends, practices, and development of STDs </li><li>Strong communication and assessment skills. </li><li>Valid Florida driver's license and automobile insurance as per agency policies </li><li>Basic keyboarding and computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word or comparable programs </li></ul> <p>Organizational Support</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate professional accountability </li><li>Advocate for positive change </li><li>Display customer service excellence </li><li>Utilize all communication technologies and practices effectively </li><li>Participate in improving performance and quality </li><li>Manage resources effectively </li></ul> <p>Job Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Performs comprehensive health assessments by obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations including internal exams of female and male genitalia. </li><li>Perform pelvic examinations and general physical examinations </li><li>Diagnoses, treats, and monitors acute and chronic diseases in collaboration with the medical director. </li><li>Be primarily assigned to provide direct patient care for those infected with HIV or at high risk to be infected with HIV or STI's. </li><li>Take medical history and perform physical examinations, provide diagnosis and initiate HIV therapy, PrEP or PEP as part of a strategy to treat individuals immediately at the time of service </li><li>Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies in collaboration with the medical director. </li><li>Identifies implements and evaluates appropriate plans of care, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions within the guidelines of the Florida APRN Practice Act. </li><li>Promotes positive health behaviors and self-care skills through education and counseling. </li><li>Improves clinical outcomes by conducting research or applying the research findings of others. </li><li>Provides accurate and appropriate documentation of patient/family services as specified in policies and submits in a timely manner. </li><li>Dispense and/or administer contraceptive methods </li><li>Evaluate patients eligible for Pre-Exposure Prophylactics (PreP). </li><li>Participates in continuing professional development and maintenance of clinical skills. </li><li>Participates in inter/intra-agency and community referrals. </li><li>Maintains a written, signed protocol of mutual agreement between the APRN and physician(s) that stipulates practice guidelines and is filed annually with the Florida Department of Health. </li></ul> <p>Empath Health values diversity as it strengthens our community and care.
