Join us.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Digital Practice and Technology Team is actively seeking a creative, talented Survey Technician for immediate employment in the Columbia, SC office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Land Surveying specific to engineering consulting services. This opportunity affords the ideal candidate the following:</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to a variety of large and complex projects including, but not limited to, Transportation projects, Water projects, Site Civil projects and more. </li><li>Exposure to multiple industry/business line sectors. </li><li>Access to new and state of the art equipment to complete surveying functions. </li><li>Opportunities for upward advancement and career growth. </li></ul> <p>Primary job functions include but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performs a variety of tasks in support of survey or construction activities</p> </li><li> <p>Works as part of a two- or three-man survey field crew</p> </li><li> <p>Performs a variety of routine tasks and works under close supervision</p> </li><li> <p>Works under the supervision of a crew chief</p> </li><li> <p>Will work with robotic total stations, GNSS equipment and terrestrial scanners</p> </li><li> <p>Will work on boundary, topographic, as-built, construction, route and control network surveys</p> </li><li> <p>Uses a variety of surveying instruments to support a survey crew in their daily operations</p> </li><li> <p>Reading and understanding survey notes, sketches, maps, deeds, as-builts and construction plans</p> </li><li> <p>Performs basic maintenance of the survey field equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps survey field vehicle in clean and orderly condition</p> </li><li> <p>Loads and unloads trucks with survey equipment and supplies</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares timesheet</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates "team" attitude and communicates effectively</p> </li><li> <p>Understands and follows all applicable safety procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Relies on general understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish moderate goals</p> </li><li> <p>Occasional overnight travel is required</p> </li><li> <p>Entry-level position; may not require previous experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices and as a condition of employment must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>DOT preconstruction survey knowledge or experience a plus </li><li>Ability to lift and carry equipment of up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Ability to stand and sit as needed on project work sites.
