<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Are you an experienced media professional with a passion for storytelling, looking for new opportunities to further your career? The SC Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking a hardworking and dependable candidate just like you to apply!</p> <p>The purpose of the Public Information Coordinator position is to enhance increasing goals and mission associated with the agency's Line of Effort 4: Inform and educate the public, State and local leaders, and Veterans on all matters pertaining to Veterans.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Public Information Coordinator:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with scriptwriting, storytelling & storyboarding: Independently write and assist in the management of short and long-form scriptwriting, storyboarding and storytelling processes to ensure clear, creative and comprehensive story production for marketing. </li><li>Assist with various aspects of video production, including setting up equipment, operating cameras, recording audio, logging footage, and performing basic video editing tasks under· minimal supervision. </li><li>Assist with capturing and editing compelling photographs at SCDVA and assigned strategic engagement events and for promotional use. </li><li>Planning, designing, writing and editing compelling content for the department's website and social media sites while making recommendations to improve the agency's overall digital communications strategy. </li><li>Create graphics to support department programs, visual and social media platforms. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A high school diploma and relevant experience. An associate degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required work experience. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted with prior approval.</p> <p>Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application will be required to bring a copy of college transcript to the interview. A copy of the transcript may also be uploaded as an attachment to the application, if required by the hiring department or if desired by the applicant. Please note that some areas of the Agency may require an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring or within a specific timeframe required by that area, after hiring.
