<p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing </li></ul> <p>fast and friendly Customer Service.</p> <ul> <li>Assists customers by making product suggestions. </li><li>Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom </li></ul> <p>announcements and one-on-one customer interaction.</p> <ul> <li>Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately. Receive and appropriately resolves </li></ul> <p>customer complaints and reports to Store Director as needed.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for total store operations in the absence of the Store Director (See Store Director job </li></ul> <p>description).</p> <ul> <li>Plans daily operation, monitors production process following company procedures and profitability. </li><li>Builds Grocery displays, rotates and discards outdated or spoiled product. Ensures cleanliness of work area </li></ul> <p>and department.</p> <ul> <li>Implements effective promotional and seasonal displays. Coordinates grocery sales promotions. </li><li>Ensures that merchandise is correctly priced and displayed and that shelves are clean and properly </li></ul> <p>maintained.</p> <ul> <li>Ability to follow and maintain department standards and requirements. </li><li>Monitors employee' productivity and evaluates overall performance. </li><li>Schedules employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels. </li><li>Specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees. Including but not limited to </li></ul> <p>Opening/Closing duties, Dairy and Frozen.</p> <ul> <li>Schedule, supervise, train and assign duties to department employees. </li><li>Train employees in store policies, sales and record keeping procedures. </li><li>Identifies and trains employees with high potential for advancement opportunities. </li><li>Working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb </li></ul> <p>Employee Handbook.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for insuring proper code dating for all products within the department are being enforced. </li><li>Initiates personnel actions such as pre-employment interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary </li></ul> <p>actions.</p> <ul> <li>Prepare sales and inventory reports. Physical inventory taken every 6 months. </li><li>Controls inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality and freshness and maintains </li></ul> <p>inventory levels according to division directives. Stocks and rotates product.</p> <ul> <li>Orders Grocery products and maintains inventory levels according to Division directives. Supervises </li></ul> <p>the processing of all reclamation as well as maintains orderly and in stock conditions in back room</p> <p>and all Grocery Department areas.</p> <ul> <li>Controls shrink and cost. </li><li>Implements correct product preparation techniques. Uses and operates related equipment such as pallet </li></ul> <p>jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters and Sterilox machine</p>
