<p>Position: Fuel Island Technician Location: SLC, UT Pay: $20.00/hr - $25.00/hr Shift: M - F 8Am - 5 PM; 7AM - 4PM</p> <p>Position OverviewThe Fuel Island Technician is responsible for supporting daily fuel-island operations by performing light mechanical repairs, inspecting equipment, and identifying maintenance needs. This role serves as a key communication link between the shop, vendors, and operations-ensuring accurate work orders, timely repair coordination, and clear written updates on repair status and estimated completion times.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities Fuel Island Support & Light Repairs</p> <p>Perform light mechanical repairs on equipment, as found during the inspection. Conduct routine inspections to ensure all units are safe, functional, and compliant with company and DOT standards. Identify defects, safety hazards, or equipment failures and take immediate corrective action.</p> <p>Work Order & Repair Coordination</p> <p>Create accurate and detailed work orders for issues requiring shop or vendor support. Prioritize and route work orders to the appropriate internal team or approved vendor based on issue type, urgency, and repair capabilities. Follow up on open work orders to ensure timely progress and maintain up-to-date status information. Coordinate vendor access, schedule repairs, and verify work completion as needed.</p> <p>Communication & Documentation</p> <p>Provide clear, concise written communication between the shop and operations regarding repair status, downtime impacts, and estimated completion times (ETAs). Document findings, performed repairs, and outstanding issues with a high degree of accuracy. Maintain logs, inspection forms, and other required documentation in accordance with company policy.</p> <p>Operational Support</p> <p>Assist drivers and equipment operators with fuel-island related issues. Ensure the fuel island is clean, organized, and operating safely at all times. Report all Driver safety concerns, or equipment malfunctions immediately.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to complete clear written communication, including repair notes and ECT updates. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</p> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <p>Previous experience in fleet maintenance, truck shop operations, or fuel-island operations. Familiarity with tractor, trailer & reefer systems, and shop work-order processes.</p>
