<p>Job Title: Mechanical Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The mechanical engineering group is seeking a candidate to enhance our talented team by leading, designing, and providing advanced solutions for integration into our autonomous systems. As a mechanical engineer, you will oversee system and subsystem designs, including military and commercially available oceanography products, and be responsible for product life cycle analysis and technical data package development for new and existing designs.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Complete product life cycle analysis and develop technical data packages. </li><li>Bring designs through first article, test, integration, and delivery to manufacturing within a cross-functional design team. </li><li>Apply mechanical engineering principles and techniques to research, develop, design, and test verified design solutions. </li><li>Support engineering and manufacturing in all design phases. </li><li>Demonstrate proficiency in material selection for underwater applications, considering corrosion and structural analysis. </li><li>Communicate designs and issues to corresponding departments. </li><li>Research, develop, and plan designs for mechanical and electromechanical products for underwater applications. </li><li>Oversee and coordinate fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems. </li><li>Support Sales and Marketing Departments with engineering special quotes. </li><li>Provide documentation for manufacturing support and design. </li><li>Estimate labor and material costs for designs and applications. </li><li>Build prototypes and test fixtures for new or updated designs and products. </li><li>Perform project management duties as assigned. </li><li>Communicate and support departmental efforts with mechanical designs and implementations. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in CAD and solid work modeling (SolidWorks). </li><li>Experience with mechanical design and new product development. </li><li>Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). </li><li>Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA). </li><li>Familiarity with Enterprise PDM (EPDM) in support of 3D modeling tools. </li><li>Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 3 years with a Master's, or no experience required with a PhD or Juris Doctorate. </li><li>Manufacturing and design experience with marine products. </li><li>Familiarization with mechanical standards. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The role is onsite in Pocasset, MA, requiring collaboration within a cross-functional design team and interaction with various departments.
