This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of a global public company with approximately $4 billion in annual sales. This position reports to the Divisional Controller in our Retailer Segment and is open to candidates commutable to our St. Louis, Chicago, or Irvine offices.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. </li><li>Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper classification and adherence to U.S. GAAP. </li><li>Perform comprehensive balance sheet account reconciliations and detailed reviews, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively. </li><li>Ensure the accuracy and completeness of revenues and expenses in accordance with U.S. GAAP principles. </li><li>Collaborate closely with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and various business operations teams to support financial objectives and provide insightful analysis. </li><li>Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules. </li><li>Participate in the continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls. </li><li>Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. </li><li>Other duties as assigned, with the potential of roles and responbilities to increase. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>Direct Reports</p> <p>This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports</p> <p>Indirect Reports</p> <p>May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports</p> <p>Travel and/or Driving Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Driving is not an essential duty and function of this job </li><li>Travel up to 10% </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; comparable experience may be considered. </li><li>3-5 years of progressive experience in an equivalent accounting role, preferably within a public company environment. </li><li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred. </li><li>Proficiency with SAP and BlackLine (or similar ERP systems and financial close management software) is preferred. </li><li>Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is required. </li><li>Experience in retail, CPG or similar companies preferred </li></ul> <p>Skills, Knowledge and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated experience working in a SOX-compliant environment is essential. </li><li>Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments. </li><li>Adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment. </li><li>Passion for leveraging data and technology pragmatically and at scale. </li><li>Entrepreneurial mindset, balancing innovation with a results-oriented approach. </li></ul> <p>Environmental & Physical Requirements</p> <p>The Company shall provide reasonable accommodations of known disabilities to enable a qualified applicant or employee to apply for employment, perform the essential functions of the job, or enjoy the benefits and privileges of employment as required by the law.</p> <p>Office / Sedentary Requirements</p> <p>Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
