<p>Essential Duties: To enhance the campers experience at Lyman Orchards, while taking responsibility for their well-being and needs. As a counselor you will be implementing camp programs (including chaperoning specialty camps, physical activities, daily living skills, health, safety and events).</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assume responsibility of safety of the campers. </li><li>Follow camp objectives, rules, policies, guidelines and daily schedule. </li><li>Assist staff with all camp activities. </li><li>Serve as a positive role model for youth. </li><li>Create new activities and games. </li><li>Show a genuine interest in the campers. </li><li>Problem-solve through situations and seek assistance when necessary. </li><li>Maintain the recreation/camp center up to Lyman Orchards standards. </li><li>Welcome all club members. </li><li>Be punctual and organized. </li><li>Participate enthusiastically. </li><li>Enhance and teach skills to the campers (guitar, basketball, art…). </li><li>Attend scheduled meetings and trainings. </li><li>Arrive on time and with a positive attitude. </li><li>Follow directions. </li><li>Work to ensure all youth are comfortable, safe and feel that they are included. </li><li>Perform all other assigned duties. </li><li>Know camper's location at all times. </li><li>Enjoy the fun summer events! </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Exhibit characteristics of: Leadership, enthusiasm, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, great social skills, integrity and a positive attitude.</p> <ul> <li>18 years of age. </li><li>Desire to work with children. </li><li>Ability to assist in teaching an activity. </li><li>Ability to accept guidance and supervision from staff. </li></ul> <p>Hiring Process and Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Application form </li><li>Interview process </li><li>Background check </li><li>CPR/1st Aide training </li></ul>
