<p>The planning division intern program is an opportunity to gain practical experience for a prospective urban planner. Under general supervision, the intern will assist the team with various tasks and projects, gaining hands-on experience in the field. They will work closely with team members to support daily operations, learn city practices and develop professional skills. This is a part-time, temporary non-exempt position.</p> <ul> <li>Assist with day-to-day tasks and administrative duties to support Development Services </li><li>Support project work by conducting research, gathering field and/or parcel data, and preparing reports for current and long-range planning projects </li><li>Collaborate with team members on assigned projects </li><li>Learn and apply relevant tools, software and processes </li><li>Maintain clear communication with supervisors and provide progress updates </li><li>Any other duties as assigned by supervisor as needed </li><li>Basic understanding of planning principles </li><li>Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in urban planning or equivalent field </li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills </li><li>Basic knowledge of Microsoft office </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team </li><li>Eagerness to learn and take initiative </li></ul> <p>EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT</p> <p>The City of Spring Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
