<p>Roof Bolter Operator</p> <p>Essential Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <p>Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations.</p> <p>Responsible for assessing conditions encountered during mining and taking appropriate action during the roof bolting cycle; scaling top rock and ribs as conditions warrant; know when supplemental support is needed; know and follow the proper bolt sequence according to the Approved Roof Control Plan.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain proper face ventilation both permanent and temporary controls. </li><li>Load and unload materials and supplies as required. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Understanding of section ventilation and cable handling procedures. </li><li>Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations. </li></ul> <p>Working Environment/Physical Activities:</p> <p>This position requires the operator to possess the dexterity (refer to Physical Abilities) to work and operate machinery and equipment in a coal seam height that varies. The operator must constantly be attentive to the changing geological conditions and surrounding environment.</p> <p>Education, Qualifications and Training:</p> <p>Underground coal miner's certificate</p> <p>Annual 8 hour refresher training</p> <p>On-the-job experience</p> <p>Vocational training (optional)</p> <p>Other qualifications as required by contract, regulations, and/or management</p>
