<p>At the Y, we believe every child is of promise and deserves the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. The Treasure Valley Family YMCA's Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school.</p> <p>The Child Development Coordinator is responsible for creating a friendly, helpful, positive atmosphere for everyone who enters the Y program through supervising assigned staff and managing program development, safety and engagement activities.</p> <p>Work Location: 4550 N. Coppercloud Way, Meridian, ID 83646</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with the Director to ensure Child Development Program operations are consistent with approved Leading Practices. </li><li>Supervise Child Development staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, coaching, scheduling, and on-going development. </li><li>Recruits and manages volunteers as needed per current Volunteer Policies and Guidelines. </li><li>Provide leadership through planning, organizing, supervising and facilitating children in a variety of age-appropriate curriculum-based experiences. </li><li>Responsible for implementing developmental appropriate curriculum based on the age of children in care. </li><li>Engage participants and parents to deepen their relationships in the Y cause. </li><li>Actively participates in team meetings and committees as assigned. </li><li>Manage staff meetings to keep staff advised and informed of all program offerings, class scheduling, participant changes, policies, etc. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 18 years of age or older. </li><li>Associate degree or equivalent is preferred. </li><li>Minimum 2 years working with children. </li><li>Minimum 1 year management experience is preferred </li><li>Excellent human relations skills and an ability to maintain position communication with staff and members. </li><li>Ability to address and make solid decision in emergency situations. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills including telephone etiquette and computer use. </li><li>Prior experience supervision of staff and volunteers preferred. </li><li>Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others. </li><li>Must be able to maintain confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Boise City and/or Idaho State Child Care License - Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period. </li><li>Pediatric CPR/AED. Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period. </li><li>First Aid. Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period. </li><li>YUSA Team Leader Certification recommended. </li></ul> <p>Schedule:</p> <p>This is a full-time opportunity, and the schedule varies based on needs of site.
