<p>At the present time, a vacancy exists for an Intervention Coordinator position within the Brandywine Virtual Academy division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). The Guided Study Program Intervention Coordinator manages the daily operations of Brandywine Virtual Academy's (BVA) Guided Study Program or similar academic intervention initiatives supporting students who are behind in coursework. This role includes leading structured online sessions, providing real-time academic guidance and technical support, monitoring progress, and facilitating student engagement. The coordinator works closely with the BVA Principal, BVA teachers, student advisors and district staff to assess student needs, track performance, and communicate updates.</p> <p>The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit is one of 29 regional educational agencies established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. At the CCIU, we pride ourselves on the creativity, dedication, and collaborative spirit that our employees bring to their work every day, and we know that achieving success together takes a team approach!</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree preferred </li><li>Experience as an instructional assistant or similar position preferred </li><li>Experience troubleshooting computer- and technology-related issues preferred </li><li>Current child abuse, criminal history, and FBI Fingerprint clearances </li></ul> <p>Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate daily live virtual intervention sessions (9:00 AM-3:00 PM) </li><li>Maintain a structured, engaging, and supportive online learning environment </li><li>Conduct regular real-time check-ins with students via chat or video to support focus and presence </li><li>Plan and lead engagement activities to enhance student participation </li><li>Coach students in self-advocacy, time management, study skills, and teacher communication </li><li>Facilitate teacher support on students' behalf during live sessions </li><li>Troubleshoot basic technical issues; escalate when appropriate </li><li>In collaboration with BVA Principal, student advisors and grade-level staff, assist with referring students to academic or attendance interventions </li><li>Promote BVA/PVA resources and events </li><li>Track student activity and engagement through system logins and live monitoring </li><li>Share updates with students, advisors, and district contacts </li><li>Support student advisors with communication to families and district personnel regarding program expectations, student progress, and interventions </li><li>Send direct communications to families (e.g., welcome messages, attendance emails) </li><li>Highlight student successes and escalate concerns when necessary </li><li>Serve as a point of contact for families and districts within the scope of the intervention program </li><li>Attend student-teacher conferences and district partner meetings as needed </li><li>Provide updates during team, support, and grade-level meetings </li><li>Communicate program timelines, expectations, and scheduling updates with advisors and other staff </li><li>Assist with course enrollment and data management in Genius and related LMS systems </li><li>Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets and communication logs for intervention students </li><li>Work with Student Support Liaisons to develop processes for documenting student progress, referrals, and midpoint/final performance determinations </li><li>Coordinate with advisors on student referrals, program entry, and final placement decisions </li><li>Serve as an advisory point of contact for supervising staff and other Intervention Coordinators involved in similar or expanded intervention initiatives within Brandywine Virtual Academy </li><li>Train new and existing Intervention Coordinators or other staff on program processes, as requested by supervisors </li><li>Achieve proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Information Systems (SIS), and other district/BVA-supported technologies </li><li>Perform other tasks as assigned by the Student Support Liaison </li></ul> <p>Salary Range (2025-2026 rates):</p> <p>Support Staff, Level 11, non-exempt</p> <p>$23.69-$29.61 hourly Placement upon salary scale dependent upon years of experience in similar role.</p> <p>Schedule:</p> <p>Monday - Friday (200 days per year, 7.5 hours per day)</p> <p>AA</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Chester County Intermediate Unit is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
