We are looking for a coach who is passionate about athlete development, safety, and building a positive team culture. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge of pole vaulting, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with the head coach and coaching staff.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide specialized coaching to boys and girls pole vaulters from beginner to advanced levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Teach proper technique, progressions, and safety protocols.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement structured practice plans aligned with program goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in meet preparation, warm-ups, event entries, and competition day management.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain equipment, ensure safe practice environments, and follow all district and MSHSL rules (or your state association).</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and the track & field coaching staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote a culture of hard work, positivity, improvement, and inclusivity.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Previous experience in pole vaulting-either as a coach or athlete.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work effectively with high school students.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of pole vault safety and technique.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.</p> </li><li> <p>Valid coaching certifications (NFHS, USATF Level 1, or willingness to obtain).</p> </li><li> <p>First Aid/CPR certification.</p> </li></ul> <p>Schedule</p> <ul> <li> <p>After-school practices during the spring season (March-June).</p> </li><li> <p>Attendance at weekday and weekend meets as scheduled.</p> </li></ul>
