<p>Job Description Summary: The Automation Engineer will report to the Director of Automation and help manage the company's automation systems. The Automation Engineer will focus on implementing programming for all Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). The Engineer will perform system programming and startup of current and future capital projects. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company.</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Developing working relations with the company's management and employees as a basis for success down the road. </li><li>Monitor and troubleshoot controls systems as directed by the Director of Automation. </li><li>Perform programming and startup of current and future capital projects. </li><li>Assist with scope, budget, schedule, and oversight of all DCS and PLC upgrade projects </li><li>Be able to work in a complex organization i.e. with multiple stakeholders and decision-makers. </li><li>A strong personal presence with the ability to adapt, lead and motivate others. </li><li>Adhering to all established procedures, policies, and safety rules as outlined by the Company. </li><li>Performing all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Chemical Engineering. </li><li>Good interpersonal and public speaking skills. </li><li>Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving. </li><li>3 years of experience with DCS programming. </li><li>20-30% travel required. </li><li>Valid driver's license required. </li></ul> <p>Green Plains Inc. offers competitive pay: a generous benefit package including business casual work environment, health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays, Paid Time Off (PTO) and a 401(k) retirement plan with immediate vesting and company safe harbor matching.
