<p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. </li><li>A minimum of two (2) years of professional human resource generalist experience. </li><li>Must have prior relevant labor/employee relations experience. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. </li><li>Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR and contract negotiations. </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree. </li><li>SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred. </li><li>Prior labor/employee relations experience in a public sector/higher education environment. </li></ul> <p>All Qualifications</p> <p>Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.</p> <p>Position Details Position Purpose</p> <p>The Senior Employee Relations Specialist will gather, investigate, collect, and maintain information, documents and records required for contract and policy development, workplace actions, and union negotiations.
