<p>Survey Instrument Man</p> <p>Department: Survey/Geomatics</p> <p>Employment Type: Full Time</p> <p>Location: Sanford, FL</p> <p>Reporting To: William Tamm</p> <p>Description</p> <p>CPH is a multi-disciplined Engineering and Architectural design firm that ranks in the nation's Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine.</p> <p>CPH has an opening for the following position: Survey Technician/Instrument Man.</p> <p>The Survey Field Crew Member is responsible for assisting in the collection of field data to support engineering and construction projects. This role involves working closely with a survey crew chief and other team members to operate a variety of surveying equipment, maintain accurate field notes, and perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with field data collection using total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, levels, and data collectors </li><li>Set up and break down surveying instruments and equipment at job sites </li><li>Take clear and accurate field notes, including sketches and descriptions of field conditions </li><li>Assist with measurements and stakeout activities for boundaries, topographic surveys, utilities, and construction projects </li><li>Ensure proper care, calibration, and organization of survey tools and equipment </li><li>Load and unload field vehicles with necessary materials and supplies </li><li>Operate tools such as sledgehammers, shovels, machetes, and chainsaws </li><li>Follow company and industry safety practices and wear required PPE at all required times </li><li>Communicate effectively with the survey crew chief and other field personnel to complete assignments efficiently </li><li>Work in varied terrain and weather conditions for extended periods </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Preferred experience operating surveying equipment and using TOPCON Magnet software. </li><li>Preferred skills in field surveying, data collection. </li><li>Knowledge in Outlook or other email software for sending/receiving files and company communications. </li><li>Adaptable and receptive to instruction from others. </li><li>Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with a team </li><li>Excellent oral, written and organizational skills. </li><li>Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines. </li><li>Ability to work out of town and adapt to different schedules, including nighttime or third shift work. </li><li>Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated. </li><li>Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required </li><li>Relevant certification or technical training in surveying technology and equipment is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Dependent upon experience. </li><li>CPH offers Medical, Dental and Vision and Long-Term Disability with a quality insurance company. </li><li>Company Paid Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability. </li><li>401K, Paid Personal Time Off, Paid Holidays, and Paid Paternal Leave. </li></ul> <p>CPH is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Drug Free Work Environment Employer.</p>
