<p>The UCCU Center at Utah Valley University is seeking skilled and motivated individuals to work part time as Technician Operations members. Come join our team and and be a part of some of the most exciting events, concerts, and tournaments in Utah. This position will be involved with setting up and taking down events happening in the UCCU Center. The UCCU Center is an exciting environment to work in, where each day and each event present new challenges. We would love for you to be a part of our team! The Operations Technician is involved in all aspects of event setup and tear-down at the UCCU Center, Lockhart Arena, and UCCU Ballpark. </p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Setting up stages, chairs, tables, furniture, pipe and drape, barricades, risers, and various other equipment.  </li><li>Assemble and disassemble the Utah Valley University NCAA Division 1 basketball floor that also includes professional basketball hoops, press tables, shot clocks, and various other sports-related flooring and equipment.  </li><li>Operate and maintain telescopic bleachers, including seating, rails, steps, and the mechanical equipment and motors attached to these units. </li><li>Must be a current UVU student. </li><li>High School diploma or GED plus a minimum of 1 year of experience or education related to the Summary of Duties. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of the assembly, set up, and removal of a portable NCAA Division 1 basketball court. </li><li>Knowledge of setting up stages, barriers, risers, chairs, etc. for concerts and various events. </li><li>Knowledge of OSHA regulations. </li><li>Knowledge of event safety and standard practices. </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Skills in organizing and directing the work of temp employees. </li><li>Skills in self-motivation and self-direction to perform tasks without constant supervision. </li></ul> <p>Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to complete tasks on time and follow instructions. </li><li>Ability to be a good teammate, contribute positively to a winning culture, and be respectful. </li><li>Ability to manages ambiguity and operates effectively even when the way forward is not clear. </li><li>Ability to directs work, provides direction, delegate, and remove obstacles to get work done. </li></ul>
