MSIM strives to provide outstanding long-term investment performance, service, and a comprehensive suite of investment management solutions to a diverse client base, which includes governments, institutions, corporations, and individuals worldwide.</p> <p>North American Institutional Sales Team - Insurance Solutions</p> <p>The North American Institutional Sales Team is responsible for driving growth across the MSIM platform, via the institutional asset owner channel, through the development of new relationships, the enhancement of existing relationships, and the application of a holistic and partnership-oriented approach to provide a best-in- client experience.</p> <p>The Insurance Solutions team sits within the North American Institutional Sales team and is responsible for driving strategy for insurance client relationships through a thoughtful analysis of the insurer's balance sheet, operating results, and other company-specific considerations to determine which current or future MSIM strategies may align well with the insurer's objectives and risk preferences. Of critical importance will be an understanding of asset treatment across various capital and regulatory regimes, ratings methodologies, modern portfolio theory and a broad sense of what renders certain asset classes attractive for varied insurance companies.</p> <p>Highlights & Key Responsibilities</p> <p>The Insurance Solutions team is seeking an insurance-focused asset management professional that has experience in developing investment solutions for insurers. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director on the team on the varied technical work necessary to drive insurance asset management sales. The candidate must possess a deep understanding of the typical investor profile for the major lines of insurance business as well as the nuances associated with varying ownership structures such as mutuals, privately-held companies, publicly-held companies, etc., and how those structures are impacted by insurance regulatory and accounting considerations.</p> <p>The candidate should also demonstrate very strong quantitative modeling skills with the ability to deeply analyze insurance company balance sheets, develop and interpret peer analyses, and perform strategic asset allocations and other types of risk modeling initiatives.</p> <p>The candidate must be a highly collaborative team-player that can liaise appropriately with various investment teams and other senior leaders across MSIM to support insurance client needs.</p> <p>The candidate may also support other insurance-focused initiatives such as thought capital and exploring strategic partnerships with insurers.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of insurance-focused asset management experience </li><li>Experience helping develop strategic asset allocation (SAA) and tactical asset allocation (TAA) frameworks; of equal importance is the ability to present these frameworks to internal stakeholders and end-clients </li><li>Ability to run and assess peer analyses </li><li>Understanding of any-or-all of the following: BMA (Bermuda Monetary Authority), US Statutory, Solvency II, MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) and other evolving global insurance regulatory regimes </li><li>Familiarity with the S&P Capital Adequacy Model and AM Best BCAR </li><li>Strong understanding of public and private investments, strategies, and markets </li><li>Ability to work well under pressure including a proven ability to multi-task and prioritize </li><li>A problem-solver who demonstrates effective organization skills and follow-through </li><li>Results-oriented with a bias for action, and who embraces accountability </li><li>FINRA Series 3, 7, and 63 required or expected to be obtained shortly after commencing employment </li><li>MBA, CFA or FSA a plus </li><li>VBA/SQL/Python a plus; excel expertise essential </li><li>Bloomberg Terminal expertise, including API functionality </li><li>Familiarity with BRS Aladdin </li><li>Ability to navigate Statutory reporting schedules (Schedule D, Schedule BA, Schedule DB) and BMA reporting schedules </li><li>Use of S&P CapIQ Pro (FKA SNL Financial) </li><li>Ability to travel </li></ul> <p>WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:</p> <p>We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
