<p>Hearst Connecticut Media Group (HCMG) journalists serve communities across Connecticut, producing trusted local journalism that reaches readers wherever they are - on CTInsider.com, through our app, newsletters, social platforms, video channels and our portfolio of 10 daily and a group of weeklies.</p> <p>We're looking for a collaborative, organized and thoughtful Reporter Intern for an 8 to 10 week paid full-time internship embedded in our newsroom.</p> <p>The Reporter Intern could cover topics ranging from food to breaking news to municipal to trending coverage. They can also take on a small special project in collaboration with other journalists.</p> <p>Duties and responsibilities could include:</p> <p>Works collaboratively with editors to tell impactful stories across platforms that engage and retain local subscribers and other readers</p> <p>Reports and writes quickly and effectively to break news online and follows up when appropriate with more in-depth enterprise pieces</p> <p>Effectively shoots and edits photos and video to accompany stories as needed</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills</p> <p>Some college experience, preferably in an English, communications or related field</p> <p>Organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks</p> <p>To apply:</p> <p>Send a cover letter, resume and clips for review.</p> <p>Hearst Connecticut Media Group is committed to building a newsroom that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
