<p>The Process Engineer provides standard set-up and operating procedures, run conditions and tooling requirements for the extrusion department. Focus on maximizing productivity, minimizing scrap and reducing production costs. The Engineer is responsible to track and report efficiencies and yields. Maintain and update "Bill of Materials" BOM's and "Methods of Manufacture" MOM's" in the Epicor ERP System for all Finish Goods, Supplies, and Raw Materials Part Numbers.</p> <p>Essential functions</p> <ul> <li>Establish and publish standard Set-Up Procedures, Run Conditions, Operating Procedures and Tooling Requirements for all Orafol's products and processes. These include all Manufacturing Process Elements and Set-Ups for Extrusion, Laminating, etc. </li><li>Monitor Production Schedules and ensure all necessary Set-Up, Tooling and Operating Procedures are prepared. </li><li>Update all "Bill of Materials" BOM's and "Methods of Manufacture" MOM's" in the Epicor ERP System for all Finish Goods, Supplies, and Raw Materials Part Numbers. </li><li>Specify and publish the same information as above for all trial and R&D runs. </li><li>Review completed jobs and verify conformance to standard operating parameters. Investigate deviations from standards and implement updates as needed. </li><li>When needed, assist with technical troubleshooting of difficult products/jobs and defective materials - for example: Bubbles, Parting Lines, Difficult Surface Textures, Contaminated Materials, etc. </li><li>Document and publish troubleshooting guides for all Products. Update as needed. </li><li>Assist in defining training needs. </li><li>Experience with TPU and Extrusion. </li><li>Monitor run rates and efficiencies. Provide a summary as needed. </li><li>Initiate, validate, and document production improvement programs. </li><li>Initiate, validate, and document cost reduction programs. </li><li>Utilize resources in a way that minimizes cost and maximizes productivity. </li><li>Perform duties and responsibilities with a sense of purpose, professionalism and attention to detail. </li><li>Foster safe work practices. </li><li>Promote a team environment. </li><li>Complete special projects and assignments that are not specific to this outline but as required and directed by supervisor. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates </li></ul> <p>additional responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Follow prescribed safety policies in accordance to Orafol's Safety program; use required PPE as specified for each Job Function. </li><li>All Safety training requirements must be up to date: the company AND Each Technician is responsible for the completion of the required Training. </li><li>Maintains an optimal level of product quality and adheres to Orafol's Quality Program </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>POSITION requirements</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>College Degree: BS or Master's Degree in Plastics Engineering (preferred) </li><li>5-10 Years in a Plastics Processing environment, functioning in a Process Engineering role </li><li>Good practical manufacturing knowledge. </li><li>Demonstrated history of Process improvements and/or defining procedures. </li><li>Fully competent in the use and application of common Microsoft Office computer programs, i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. </li></ul> <p>Aptitudes & Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Must have a positive "can do" attitude and a sense of accountability; takes initiative. </li><li>Must be a fast learner, driven and self-motivated; strive towards continuous improvement. </li><li>Required to maintain a clean and presentable appearance. </li><li>Expected to have minimum unplanned absences, as defined by the "Employee Attendance Expectations". </li><li>Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. This includes maintaining all tools and equipment. </li><li>Works well with others; work cooperatively between shifts and departments in order that the overall company benefits. </li></ul>
