Faculty provide authentic student assessment that allows students to improve their knowledge and skills with each assignment. Faculty foster student success by establishing meaningful connections with students early in the semester to support the varying needs of each student throughout the term.</p> <p>The Department of Health Information Technology is seeking candidates for an adjunct position to teach students in online courses.</p> <ul> <li>Please include unofficial copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts and RHIT/RHIA credential. Will be required to submit official copies of transcripts before start date. </li><li>This position may have occasional travel between campuses and for training. Occasional after hours may be required. </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties</p> <p>Teaching Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Embrace the institutional goals of Central Carolina Community College by engaging students as full partners in the learning process, removing barriers to student progression in courses, and supporting and assisting students in achieving their educational and career goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Use student learning outcomes to create a variety of activities, assignments, and assessments that ensure curriculum goals will be met.</p> </li><li> <p>Create a dynamic instructional environment that promotes a positive, interactive, and inclusive learning experience for all students.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a Blackboard course with a syllabus and gradebook for each class.</p> </li><li> <p>Grade all assignments in a timely manner and ensure that all grades are reported within the 10-day college grading policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide personalized and constructive feedback on student assignments by recognizing what students did well and identifying attainable improvements for future work.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to all student communication within two business days.</p> </li><li> <p>Report attendance weekly.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively support the college's vision of being the college of choice for students, workforce partners, community leaders, and employees.</p> </li></ul> <p>Institutional Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Participate in activities required to maintain program and/or college accreditation standards when needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Engage in professional development activities to keep current in your discipline.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain current knowledge of your discipline and renew industry credentials, as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend departmental, divisional, and college-wide meetings as requested.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide a first-class opportunity for students by displaying excellence, integrity, respect, collaboration, innovation, and leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Recognizing and respecting the variety of experiences and contributions represented by all of our students, employees, and community, all faculty will encourage a learning environment in which everyone is supported and valued for their unique perspectives and experiences and will foster and promote the participation of all members of our diverse communities.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Required educational background:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a minimum of an Associate Degree in Health Information Technology or a related field. </li></ul> <p>Required Industry Credentials:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a current Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential. </li></ul> <p>Required Industry Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of two years full-time experience as a health information professional in a healthcare setting. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in a Health Science field </li><li>Post-secondary level teaching experience, working with diverse learners. </li><li>Experience teaching online classes </li><li>Experience with Blackboard Ultra LMS </li></ul>
