<p>Job Title Director of Small Business Center Job Description</p> <p>Provide strategic direction, leadership and administer all activities of the Cleveland Community College Small Business Center.</p> <p>Essential Duties Summary</p> <ul> <li>Direct the activities of the Small Business Center at Cleveland Community College to comply with the Small Business Center Network Operations Manual. </li><li>Be a champion for entrepreneurs and small businesses by maintaining a high visibility among small businesses in the Cleveland Community College service area. </li><li>Identify the needs of prospective entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, and small businesses and initiate plans and/or activities to meet those needs. </li><li>On a regular basis, sponsor seminars and small business related activities that exceed the requirements of the SBCN guidelines. </li><li>Develop and maintain an accurate database of local small businesses, owners, and service providers. </li><li>Develop strategic relationships with local professional organizations and trade associations. </li><li>Maintain effective partnerships with local, state, federal, education agencies and other service providers. </li><li>Maintain effective partnerships within the network of Small Business Centers in the state. </li><li>Facilitate the Small Business Advisory Committee and hold, at minimum, one Advisory Committee meeting per year. </li><li>Collaborates with Customized Training Director as appropriate regarding the needs of small businesses and entrepreneurs. </li><li>Prepare and control the Small Business Center operational budget. </li><li>Develop promotional and marketing plans for the Small Business Center. </li><li>Collect, maintain, and evaluate participant data for needs and trends. </li><li>Evaluate the effectiveness of Small Business Center activities through participant feedback and adjust accordingly. </li><li>Serve on internal and external committees as required. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned and other related duties incidental to the work described herein. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range Based on experience. Starting salary range $52,193 to $78,289. Required Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution or a minimum of 10 years' work experience in entrepreneurship, small business, or related field. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work effectively and collegially with others in the workplace and the community. </li><li>Ability to provide leadership in anticipating and responding to change. </li><li>Ability to use productivity software, including a general knowledge of word processors and spreadsheets, the ability to send and receive email, and to complete and submit electronic forms. </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Provide exceptional customer services with people internal and external to the institution. </li><li>Providing vision and leadership. </li><li>Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college. </li><li>Willingness to collaborate with multiple departments to achieve excellence for customers and students. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred. </li><li>Business ownership experience is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information, analyze data, make assessments, and exercise good judgment to make decisions; possess ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus; and effective use of all forms of communication (oral, visual, auditory), including use of computers.
