POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>The Elementary Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing a comprehensive instructional program that supports student academic growth and development. The teacher fosters a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, collaborates with colleagues and support staff, and communicates effectively with parents, students, and administrators to advance the educational mission and goals of Boone County Schools.</p> <p>B. REPORTS TO</p> <ul> <li> <p>Principal or designee</p> </li><li> <p>Works collaboratively with instructional support staff, fellow teachers, and district administrators</p> </li></ul> <p>C. QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Holds or is eligible for a valid West Virginia teaching certificate appropriate to the assigned position.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates strong knowledge of content standards and effective instructional practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Possesses effective communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional growth and continuous improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Meets all additional requirements established by the Boone County Board of Education and the West Virginia Department of Education.</p> </li></ul> <p>D. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Plans and implements engaging, standards-based instruction that addresses the diverse learning needs of students.</p> </li><li> <p>Establishes and maintains a safe, orderly, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and resources to enhance student learning and engagement.</p> </li><li> <p>Assesses student learning using multiple measures and provides timely, meaningful feedback to students and parents/guardians.</p> </li><li> <p>Differentiates instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with disabilities and English language learners.</p> </li><li> <p>Integrates instructional technology to support teaching, learning, and student achievement.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to plan, implement, and evaluate school programs and initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in professional learning activities to remain current with curriculum standards and educational best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains accurate records of student attendance, academic progress, and performance in accordance with district and state requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.</p> </li><li> <p>Complies with all district policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal laws and regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or district administration.</p> </li></ul> <p>E. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT</p> <ul> <li> <p>Contract: 200 days or as determined by the Boone County Board of Education</p> </li><li> <p>Salary: In accordance with the Boone County Schools salary schedule and commensurate with experience and certification</p> </li></ul> <p>F. EVALUATION</p> <p>Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with Boone County Board of Education policy governing the evaluation of professional personnel.</p>
